The Gaz 69 looks just like the Old type ARO that I see alot of here in Romania. The new type ARO (dont think they are still being built) looks alot like a Landrover Defender (but no where near as good). Apparently it was meant to be a copy when there was the east west devide and the east was cloneing lots of western technology.

The Gaz69 & UAZ are very cool, Priit Aus had one in camp last year and we loved it.

What are the camper vans? They look much better (and cooler) than the rusty old VW camper vans we have over here.

And here is an intersting history of ARO http://www.autosoviet.altervista.org/ENGLISH-automotorusse9-H(Aro).htm Would seem it is very related to the Soviet version.

I like different unique auto cars.
And once in winter, in minus 30 degrees cold I took decision to ride on Olt Cit which bought to laugh on it by 100$. In this car was air cooler engine and appeared ice in glasses and they were not frozened. And also it has a very funny construction of front breaks. when I had driven on it I have such feeling, as from driving on a snowmobile. When I was stopping on petrol station and begun to fill in petrol, engine was continuing working and at those moment all Olt Cit fired like match. Imagine how I pushed this firing Olt Cit for didn't making fire on petrol station.:wassat:
